Setting up one of the best-irrigation-systems in your yard and gardens for watering is not only economical, but can save you a lot of time and frustration during the summer months when watering requirements are extremely high.
Many people opt for a general sprinkler connected to various water hoses around their property, but this can be a real chore each day, especially as droughts begin to set in. You have to pull out the hoses, get the sprinklers set just right and then move them around periodically in order to control your irrigation.
These irrigation-systems are much easier to deal with. You set them up once, and then forget about them.
They may require maintenance from time to time, but this is nothing compared to the
time you spend moving a sprinkler around every time you need to water the lawn, or your gardens.
Whenever you're setting up a watering system for your lawn and landscaping needs, one thing you'll definitely want is a complete timer system.
This can be as simple as a dial control with one zone to work with, or you can get a pricier unit that has multiple programming capabilities along with multiple zones that can be watered at different times.
We researched and tested the following five products in our quest for the best-irrigation-systems and settled on the Orbit Watermaster 91922 for our needs.

This Rain Bird Irrigation-Timer SST12000 12 Zone Indoor and Outdoor Simple to Set Timer is the perfect choice for homeowners who have average to large landscaping areas in their yard, and a strong contender for our best-irrigation-systems.
With it’s 12 zones, it’s a particularly good fit if you need a lot of flexibility for watering times and duration. This unit is around $100, and it is extremely affordable compared to higher priced commercial systems, and should offer you years of use.
The next one we suggest at a lower price and for a medium sized yard with only a few watering requirements is the Rain Bird SST-600I Simple Set 6-Station Indoor Automatic Sprinkler System Timer. You can grab this timer for around $60. It's very economical, has 6 zones you can set up and since it's installed indoors you don't have to run outside to water when you need to manually override the programming.
If you have a simple yard and only a few watering requirements, a lower priced unit may be a better choice for you. The Orbit 91213 One-Dial Garden Hose Digital Water Timer costs about $30 and is designed with simplicity in mind. Instead of buttons and a lot of programming, this unit works on a dial system. Simply turn it to where you need it and let it do its job.
Other things you want to consider when setting up automated sprinkler systems is using irrigation kits for specific areas of your yard. It doesn't save you much time if you're going out every hour to move the sprinkler around. You can get some really nice and easy to set up irrigation and drip watering systems to make your life much easier.
For the indoor or patio garden we suggest the 75ft Garden and Greenhouse Landscaping Irrigation Plant Watering Drip Hose Sprinkler System Kit. At around $17 you can't beat the price.
For outdoors around shrubs, trees or in flower beds that need to be drip watered, we recommend the DIG Irrigation GE200 Complete Drip and Micro Sprayer Kit. This kit will cost you around $45 but it covers up to 700 feet of ground and comes complete with all the sprayers and nozzles.
